Data protection is my highest priority

Protecting your personal data is of particular concern to me. I therefore process your data exclusively on the basis of the statutory provisions (GDPR, BDSG, TDDDG). This privacy policy explains which data are processed when you visit this website, for what purpose and for how long.

Hosting and server location

This website is hosted by netcup GmbH, Daimlerstraße 25, 76185 Karlsruhe, Germany. The server is located in a data centre in Nuremberg, Germany. No personal data are transferred to third countries outside the EU or the EEA.

The hosting provider processes the data arising from your visit exclusively on my behalf and in accordance with my instructions. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded for this purpose. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest lies in providing this website securely and reliably.

Server log files

Each time a page or file on this website is accessed, access data are automatically stored in so-called log files. The following are recorded:

– the IP address of the requesting device
– the date and time of access
– the name and URL of the file retrieved
– the volume of data transferred and the status message
– the previously visited page (referrer)
– the browser and operating system used

This processing serves the technical delivery of the website, error analysis and the prevention of attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The log files are automatically deleted after seven days. They are neither merged with other data nor evaluated for analytical purposes.

Contacting me

If you send me a message using the contact form or by e-mail, I process the data you provide in order to handle your enquiry and in case of any follow-up questions.

The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to the initiation or performance of a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR on the basis of my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.

Your enquiry will be deleted once it has been dealt with conclusively and no further questions are to be expected, at the latest after six months. Where a contractual relationship results, the statutory retention periods apply. I treat these data confidentially and do not pass them on without your consent. The form is transmitted in encrypted form.

Security measures

This website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise this by the address bar of your browser, which begins with https://. This means that the data you transmit to me cannot be read by third parties. In addition, I employ technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, destruction and unauthorised access.

Audio and video files

All audio samples and video recordings are stored directly on my own server and are played back without any third-party services. When a file is retrieved, only the server log files described above are generated. External players such as YouTube, Vimeo or SoundCloud are not used.

Google Fonts (locally hosted)

To ensure a consistent presentation of type, this website uses the font Open Sans by Steve Matteson, an open-source typeface made available via Google Fonts.

The font files are stored permanently on my own server and are delivered exclusively from there. No connection to Google servers is established when this website is accessed. Neither your IP address nor any other personal data are transmitted to Google.

Your rights

You have the right at any time to obtain information about the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR) as well as the right to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). You may withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR).

Right to object: Where I process data on the basis of legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you may object to such processing at any time pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation.

An informal message by e-mail is sufficient to exercise your rights.

Right to lodge a complaint

If you believe that the processing of your data infringes data protection law, you may lodge a complaint with me or with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for me is:
